Are you wondering what your next strategic move in the health care industry should be? TKA brings the science of management to the business of medicine.
TKA HEALTH CARE STRATEGIES represents our newest industry specialization. This brings all TKA tools, accumulated knowledge, sources, and contacts to bear on the strategic challenges facing healthcare ‘verticals’, and customizes them to meet the needs of those fast-evolving sectors. Our current primary focus is on health plans and pharmaceuticals manufacturers.
We support the development of competitive health care strategies using primary and secondary research, quantitative and financial analysis, and other proprietary evidence-based techniques described elsewhere on this site.
We have deep applied knowledge in a range of areas:
- Health Care Reform Strategies. TKA developed several competitive 'macro' scenarios that could result from the implementation of consumer-based heatlh insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act. We evaluated results under each of these scenarios, including potential market entry by new players, potential price points, new products, etc.
- Research Architecture and Roadmap. TKA assessed how enterprise-level strategic information requirements will change as a result of changes in the regulatory and competitive environment for health care. We recommended significant changes in both the content and process of research, with the goal of making the corporate research and intelligence functions more effective and responsive to changing business conditions and internal client needs. Substantial inefficiencies and cost reductions were identified.
- Research Distribution Platform. TKA designed and built a repository and content management system for market research and intelligence products using SharePoint®. We trained client site managers and assisted with internal implementation and roll-out.
- ‘Aging’ Market Opportunities. For services related to the aging of the population, TKA identified and assessed a range of market opportunities. This included key market drivers (primarily demographic and regulatory), market demand, current competitors, and entry barriers and risks on both a macro (total US) and micro (specific regional target markets) basis.
- Counterfeits Products Mitigation. TKA designed and executed a research program ("I-TRACK") to systematically identify and track potential counterfeit and diverted prescription pharmaceuticals being sold on the Internet. This was implemented in several diagnostic categories representing high-opportunity drugs, and was used by our clients as a basis for mitigation countermeasures involving internal security personnel and law enforcement.
